Help a teammate sign in and join your team
What your invited teammate needs to do, and how to fix invitations that go wrong.
Team and Billing
Written forTeam adminsTeammates join through an email invitation. Here is what to tell them and what to check when an invitation does not work. You can share this public article with them before they sign in.
Steps
- 1Send the invitation to the exact email address your teammate will sign in with.
- 2Tell them to open the invitation email, select the accept link, and sign in using that same email address.
- 3If the invitation went to the wrong inbox or has expired, send a fresh one from the Team page.
- 4Once they are in, they land in your team workspace. If they belong to several teams, the team menu in the top navigation switches between them.
What to know
- Invitations are tied to one email address. Signing in with a different address will not connect them to your team.
- Sent invitations stay listed under Pending Invites on the Team page, so you can confirm an invite actually went out before troubleshooting further.
- If a teammate can sign in but cannot see your team, they are probably in a different workspace. Have them check the team menu before assuming the invitation failed.
Tips
- If sign-in keeps failing for a teammate, have them try a private browser window, then contact [email protected] with their email address and your team name.
