Allow camera access on iPhone or iPad

Get the camera working in Safari before taking your event photo.

On this page

Open the event link in Safari and allow camera access for that website. You do not need a Snapbar dashboard account to participate.

Steps

  1. Open the original event link in Safari. If it opened inside an email or social app, use its open-in-browser option or copy the link into Safari.

  2. Continue to the photo step and choose Allow when Safari asks to use the camera.

  3. If access was blocked, open the page menu beside the address bar. Find the website settings, opening the More menu if needed, and change Camera to Ask or Allow for this site.

  4. Reload the event page and return to the photo step. Allow camera access if prompted again.

  5. If the camera still does not open, close other camera apps or video calls and try again. Ask event staff for help if the device is managed by your workplace.

What to know

  • Safari menu names and icons vary by iOS version. Change the permission for the event website rather than allowing every website to use your camera.
  • If you use another browser, check its site permissions and its camera access under Settings, Privacy & Security, Camera. An app appears in that list after requesting access.
  • If the experience offers a photo upload option, you can choose an existing photo instead. Uploads are not available for every event.

Tips

  • Changing camera permissions does not submit a photo. Follow the event prompts to finish your submission.
  • If you are using an event kiosk, ask staff before changing its settings.
