Create and configure a Live Mosaic display
Set up a photo-tile wall that builds from approved guest submissions during an event.
Displays
Written forEvent producersLive Mosaic is a display type for events that need a large visual wall. Guest photos feed into a tile grid that forms a source image, such as a logo or key art, while the event is running.
Steps
Open the display
- 1Open the experience and choose Displays.

A Live Mosaic appears as its own display card with Edit, Open, Share, and Active controls. - 2Find the Live Mosaic card in your Displays tab. Snapbar sets the display up for you as part of your event package.
- 3Select Edit on the Live Mosaic card to open its settings.
Build the wall
- 1Upload a bright, simple source image in the Source image section.
- 2Choose the aspect ratio and grid density for the venue screen, then select Apply grid.
- 3Pick a blend starting point: Classic mosaic lays your source image more strongly over the tiles so the artwork reads clearly, while True mosaic keeps the wash light so individual guest photos stay vivid and the artwork emerges from the tiles. Fine-tune only if the preview needs it.
Go live
- 1Enable the display from the display card after the source image and grid checklist is complete.
- 2Open the display link on the event screen and send several test photos through the booth.
What to know
- Live Mosaic starts disabled so an unfinished wall is not accidentally shared. It can go live after the source image is uploaded and the grid has been applied.
- The source image is what the photo tiles build toward. Bold logos, icons, and high-contrast artwork usually work better than detailed photos or text-heavy designs.
- Grid density affects how many tiles the wall needs. Higher density can look more detailed, but it also needs more submissions before the wall feels full.
- Live Mosaic is part of select event packages and is added by Snapbar. If you would like one for your event, contact Snapbar with your event date and screen details, and the display will appear in your Displays tab once it is ready.
Tips
- Use the real screen orientation when choosing aspect ratio. A vertical venue display should not use a wide 16:9 wall.
- Run tests with realistic lighting and guest volume so the tile colors and timing are meaningful.
- If the wall looks washed out, use the fine-tune controls under Source image to adjust brightness, saturation, and contrast, or switch on Black and white source for a classic look.
- Keep a Gallery or Slideshow display ready as a fallback for recap browsing or lower-volume events.
