Hide or delete submissions and leads
Choose the right action when a guest result should leave public views or be removed permanently.
Results and Data
Written forModeratorsHide is for public visibility. Delete is for permanent data removal. Use the smallest action that solves the problem, especially during live events when teams may still need records for troubleshooting or reporting.
Steps
- 1Open the experience and choose Submissions or Leads.
- 2Find the guest record by name, email, submission time, or visible media.
- 3Use hide or unhide when the media should change public visibility without deleting the record.
- 4Use delete only when the submission, captured media, generated media, and attached lead data should be permanently removed.
- 5Confirm affected displays, galleries, sharing pages, and exports behave as expected.
- 6Document why the action was taken if the event requires moderation or privacy records.
What to know
- Hidden media can still help staff troubleshoot event-day issues because the record remains available in the dashboard. Deleted submissions and leads cannot be recovered through the normal dashboard workflow.
- Lead deletion can also remove the associated submission and media depending on the action. Read the confirmation message carefully before you delete, because deleted records cannot be brought back.
- For full post-event cleanup, the experience Advanced tab provides Privacy Deletion controls: Clear Personal Data, Delete Event Data, and Delete Experience. These are permanent and intended for after the activation ends.
Tips
- Prefer hide for brand-safety moderation during live events.
- Use delete for privacy, duplicate cleanup, or test data only when the team is sure the record is no longer needed.
- Check display links after moderation so public screens reflect the decision.
