Choose a display type
Decide whether an event should use a gallery, slideshow, or Live Mosaic display.
Displays
Written forEvent producersChoose the display type based on what the screen should do. Use Gallery for browsing, Slideshow for passive rotation, and Live Mosaic when the event needs a large visual wall that builds from guest photos. The list below is a comparison guide, not a sequence, so choose the one type that matches your screen.
Steps
- 1Choose Gallery for recap pages, tablets, embeds, or screens where browsing matters.
- 2Choose Slideshow for venue monitors, projection, or unattended live displays.
- 3Choose Live Mosaic when photos should fill a source image, logo, or key art in real time. Live Mosaic displays are part of select event packages and are added by Snapbar.
- 4Tune layout and timing based on the screen size and event pace.
- 5Decide how quickly new photos should appear and who will watch public screens for content that needs hiding.
What to know
- Gallery, Slideshow, and Live Mosaic all connect to experience submissions, but their presentation and setup needs are different.
- For live event screens, test the display after several submissions exist so spacing, crop behavior, and rotation feel right.
- Live Mosaic is more setup-heavy than Gallery or Slideshow because it needs a source image, an applied grid, and enough approved photos to build a readable wall.
- A display is not the same as the recipient gallery. Displays are shared screens or pages anyone can view, while each recipient gallery belongs to one guest and shows their delivered result.
Tips
- Use a slideshow for screens guests glance at in passing, and a gallery for pages where people browse, download, and share.
- Use Live Mosaic only when the event plan includes a screen people can see for more than a quick glance.
- If sponsors or clients need approval, keep moderation expectations clear before turning on a public display.
